I’ve been brainstorming on a new campaign setting recently and part of that is my plan to include the use of miniatures for combat situations with the Chainmail rules. As an experiment, I wanted to give sculpting my own miniature a shot. The sculpt I wanted to try first was my own take on the giants in the local area.
I won’t go too in depth on the process, but I’ll provide a list of the materials I used, the YouTube channel that has tutorials which I took advice from, and a photo gallery of the different stages.
Materials
- Wire for the armature
- Fimo Polymer clay
- Green Stuff
- Miliput (mixed with the green stuff at 50/50 ratio)
Tom Mason – This channel is extremely thorough for step by steps of getting started and process. Once I had watch the armature process and first layers instruction, I was able to take off on my own fairly confidently.
